Bourkevale Community Centre

Bourkevale Community Centre is located at the south end of Ferry Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. We are a small but vibrant community centre offering various activities and events for our community.  We are privileged to offer not only a great facility, but great team of dedicated people, and a beautiful green space along the Assiniboine River. 

The Bourkevale Community Centre is adjacent to the St. James Lawn Bowling Club's greens, a popular city dog park, and is situated along an official city bike trail which leads west along the  Assiniboine through Bruce Park to the Assiniboine Park foot-bridge. In the winter months, access to The World's Longest Public Skating Path will be built along the Assiniboine River from our location! Bourkevale is honoured to be a part of this exciting addition to Winnipeg's attractions.

BCC's Annual Mid-winter Social

We've recently paid off our expensive tractor, so what better reason to celebrate?
Come enjoy some mid-winter cheer with your neighbours and support your community club at the same time! Tickets are available at the BCC canteen or by calling Tom at 250-5901.

For those who wish to skate on our fantastic ice at the BCC Rinks...
our dedicated volunteers will have them open and ready for action!

Come in and join the fun of a free co-operative playgroup.
Every Tuesday, 9:15 a.m.-11:15 a.m.
Parents are welcome to come with their pre-schoolers (5 and under).
It's informal, fun and a great way to meet new families.

The Concerned Residents of Affected Assiniboine Area Projects (CRAAAP),
who graciously donated the proceeds of their street party to purchase soccer nets for the club's mini soccer program.
We now have four new compact nets, thanks to the group's generous donation!

Soccer Awards were handed out at the Hoedown on Sept. 12th.

HOEDOWN !!!

held Saturday, Sept.12 2009, 2pm - 11pm

It was a super day of fun!!!
Bourkevale's annual Hoedown/Soccer wind-up was a roaring success again this year.
Turn-out was exceptional and a great time was had by all.

We'd like to thank Wild, our dog training group, in particular for putting on such an impressive dog show. The kids loved it!!!

A big 'Hats Off!' to all the volunteers who made this event possible.
It takes in excess of 50 dedicated volunteers to stage an event that included:

• Bouncers, balloons & face painting
  We had super fun bouncers! All the kids had a great time!!!
• BBQ
  Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, soft drinks and Sargent Sundae ice cream, all at great prices!
• Beer Garden
  Featured an expanded selection of locally brewed beers and coolers from Manitoba microbreweries.
• Great Live Music
  Bluesman Bert entertained us with his slide guitar, & the Blockheads rocked the house.
• Soccer Awards
  The kids were excited to get their trophies and medals. Great job kids and coaches alike!
• Karate Demonstration
  Don't try this at home! Some serious skill was displayed in the demonstration.
• Fireworks
  The Fireworks Finale has become a Hoedown tradition.

...And thanks once again to all who came down to share in the fun!

Soccer Season 2008 !!!!

The 2008 soccer season ended on a high note, with two of Bourkevale's soccer teams winning their championship games!!!

• Our nine-year-old boys soccer team won the city championship!
• Our 10-year-old girls won the St. Charles Cup !

Bravo to all the kids and coaches for their hard work and fantastic performance!!!
