The Bourkevale Community Centre, and the surrounding neighborhood, nestled
in an abundance of green space along the Assiniboine River, south of
Portage Ave. has a rich history.
There was once a 9 hole golf course between Douglas Park Road and Ferry
Road where Bourkevale Community Centre and park are situated today. In
1949 a number of interested parents began discussions which would lead to
the eventual creation of the Bourkevale Community Centre.
The story of the BCC, and related historical information will be further
